Altar Serving Ministry
O Lord, let my example encourage others to greater reverence. I profoundly adore Thee, really present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar.
Altar Serving Ministry
Children in grades 4-12, who have received their first Holy Communion, may choose to participate in St. Monica’s Altar Server ministry. This role is a special opportunity to learn more about the Mass while assisting the priest in the Sanctuary.
Altar Server Mass Expectations:
Altar Servers are role models for the members of the congregation. The expectations for all Altar Servers are as follows:

- For additional information about specific Altar Server duties, please refer to the information at this link.
Behavior:
- Being mindful of the sacred environment, Altar Servers should always act in a respectful matter.
Dress Code:
- Shoes should not stand out or be noticed by the congregation.
- Wear formal/nice black shoes with black or white socks.
- No tennis shoes, high heels, sandals/flip flops, or open-toed shoes.
- Remembering that we are each made in the image and likeness of God, please maintain good hygiene and grooming which reflects that dignity.
